Social Media Sizing Cheat Sheet

This is a shout out to LunaMetrics for great content marketing – and not just once but twice!

I’m a wordsmith. Sure, I can import a photo and crop-it decently but getting things to fit is another matter. The other day I was trying to squeeze a photo into a Twitter Profile Pic. Did you know that Twitter does not provide the required dimensions in their help center?

But that doesn’t matter anymore – because when I searched ‘what are the dimensions for the Twitter profile pic’ up popped the INFOGRAPHIC: The Ultimate Complete Final Solution Social Media Sizing Cheat Sheet.

LunaMetrics uses the Infographic to provide the sizing for graphics used by LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+ and Pinterest. Need the dimensions for your Google+ Cover photo? Check here.

According to Marketing Manager – Dan Wilkerson this is the second rendition. LunaMetrics released the first infographic in June 2012 which was, as Wilkerson understated ‘wildly successful piece of content, totally blowing our expectations out of the water’.  I’ll say. Last count on their blog showed 5.4k Facebook likes, 1,186 LinkedIn shares, 3,387 Tweets, 1.3K Google+ Shares, 3K Pins and 27 Stumbles.

Realizing that social media sites often change their formats, LunaMetrics re-released the graphic, completely re-designed adding a few more networks and reader input in November 2012, which is what appears below. It was released ‘without further ado’ – avoiding the tiresome advice, platitudes and sometimes reiterated social media advise that you see elsewhere.

I was so impressed, I scoured their website, checked out their previous posts and signed up for the newsletter. It was apparent that LunaMetrics was the kind of company that I wanted to be acquainted with. They left such a positive impression and I wanted to make sure I was in the mix when they did something like this again.

Good content marketing doesn’t have to be proprietary, transparent, secretive, numbered, 300 words, or the latest and greatest. Good content doesn’t bribe you with white papers, email addresses or login promises.

Nope good content is just that – good.

LunaMetrics weren’t the first to create a social media sizing cheat sheet. I hope their precedessors were just as successful.

A toast to LunaMetrics… looks good on ya

And in the spirit of LunaMetrics.. here’s the code – if you want to add it to your website.
